This is an informative post by Juanita Waterman.

1) Act as if you expect to get: The most important characteristic of a good asker is their sense of certainty. They come from a ground of being in which they know that they will get what they want and, this certainty, has a positive impact on the listener.

2) Ask with conviction: Most people are shy when they ask, as if to say that they do not feel worthy of getting what they are asking for. You must ask with conviction if you want to get what you truly desire. There is a very good story about an author who was writing a book called ‘America’s Greatest Sales People’ and wanted to have Zig Ziglar as one of the people he interviewed in it. Initially, Zig Ziglar’s secretary said no. However, when he realised he was not asking with conviction, he started to rephrase his question and said, ‘can you imagine a book called America’s Greatest Sales People without Zig Ziglar in it?’ Needless to say, he got his interview.

3) Ask someone who can give it to you: This may sound simplistic but most people ask the wrong people. One of the biggest steps in getting what you want is to find the right person to ask. If that person cannot help you, ask them to introduce you to a person they know that can.

4) Be clear and specific: By being clear and specific, the listener will know exactly what you want and will be able to give it to you. Try to tell them what you need, when you need it by, where you need it and how much you need. Also, enforce your question with credible reasons as to why they should give you what you want.

5) Ask from the Heart: Ask in a kind voice, ask politely and ask with respect and admiration.

6) Ask with humour and creativity: There is a story of a gentleman who wanted to ask a lady out on a date and he did this by sending a homing pigeon with his message written on it. We are asked for many things each day and by asking creatively, you will ensure that your question will be treated with proper thought and time.

7) Give in order to get: Life gives to the giver and takes to the taker. If you are a person who gives, you will attract other givers into your life.

Ask repeatedly: Do not give up if the first person you ask says no. If they say no, ask someone else. Jack and Mark had to ask over 100 publishers before somebody published Chicken Soup for the Soul. What you have heard of them if they had stopped at the 99th publisher?

With these principles, and the other elements of asking that we have covered in the previous messages, you should now be able to ask for, and receive, what you truly desire.
Mohammed Ali

Hope this helps

This is a great post by one of the real pro's in network marketing as well as internet marketing Rod Nichols. Enjoy.

Over 90% of the people who join network marketing companies will fail. Many will fail over and over. Here are some of the reasons. Evaluate your own network marketing career. Make the necessary changes and you will achieve high levels of success! Here are main reasons why people fail in network marketing:

1. Select the wrong company – company goes out of business. Before you invest your time and money, make sure you have selected a company that is financially strong, well managed, has all the necessary infrastructure to handle momentum growth, and has a long-term plan that is beneficial to the distributors.

2. Select the wrong upline – no training or support. Make sure you are working with an upline group that has been successful, has the time to work with you personally, has proven training and marketing programs in place that you can use.

3. No purpose for being in business – if the "why?" is strong enough, the "how" is not as important.

4. No written goals – you must determine your goals, write them on a piece of paper, develop a plan of action, schedule daily activities that will take you to your goals.

5. Focused on making money – money is important, but your focus should be on helping others succeed. Zig Ziglar once said that "you can have everything you want, if you just help enough other people get what they want." Go out to make friends and help them become successful and you will also be successful.

6. Treat their business like a hobby – you must give your business consistent hours every day. If you treat it like a hobby (do things whenever you have some spare time), you will get paid like a hobby. If you treat it like a business (plan your work and work your plan daily), you will get paid like a BIG business!

7. Don't contact enough people – your job is to be a messenger. Take the message about your company, products, and opportunity out to as many people as is humanly possible each day. Don't worry about those who are not interested. You are just sifting for those who are. If you were to contact just one new person every day (six days a week), you would make 312 new contacts per year. If you just sponsored 10% of those, you would have 31 new distributors each year. What if they just duplicated what you did. WOW!

8. Blame – they blame their upline, the company, the compensation plan, and the products for their failure. This is YOUR business and YOUR responsibility. If you have chosen the right company and upline, then your success or failure falls squarely on your shoulders.

9. Impatience – most people get too impatient and quit with success just around the corner. This is a business and it takes time to build. If you were building a traditional business, it would take 3 to 5 years before you were actually making any money. In network marketing, you can do this in a matter of months. Be patient and never quit.

10. Takes NO personally – people are going to tell you NO. It's not the right time in their life for what you are offering. They are not rejecting you, but rather the opportunity or products. Don't take it personally, just stay in touch with the person, so when the time is right, you will be there.

To your success,

This is information that is valuable to you. I have titled this post, finding the right mentors to help you build. The article was written by one of my favorites Michael Force.

The most obvious example I can think of when I think of why you need a good mentor is learning how to ride a bike.

Maybe you’re one of the few kids who just got on that bike and rode it without help. I wasn’t.

Whenever we’re learning anything, the people who help us are a major part of the reason we succeed.

The same is true of online business.

When you think about this, it makes perfect sense. You’ve had business mentors in every job you’ve ever had. These were the people who did everything from training you to telling you that your boss had custody of the kids on Tuesday nights so you shouldn’t approach him on Wednesday mornings.

Yes, as an online business owner you’re responsible for your own success. Part of that responsibility is realizing what you don’t know and finding the right people to teach you.

Fortunately, there are a lot of good people out there who have been wildly successful with their online businesses and now spend at least part of their time helping others achieve the same success.

My personal business model is based on the reality that my success results from helping other people realize their dreams. All of the best business mentors share that same mindset.

But how do you find the right online business mentor for you? After all, like I said there are a lot of great mentors out there.

There are also a lot of scam artists out there. The online world isn’t any different from the offline world in that regard.

With that fact in mind, here are some of the things you need to be looking out for when you choose your online business mentor or mentors:

• How successful has this person been? How successful is she or he now? You want someone with a proven track record who also successfully rides the fast-changing world of online business.

• What about the people who have worked with this mentor? What do they have to say about the experience, and exactly how have their businesses benefited?

• Exactly how much support does the mentor offer? Will you be meeting online only, or does he offer phone and/or in-person consultations as well? Is this style a comfortable fit for you?

• How quickly does the person respond to questions?
• Finally, is this person a good fit for you personally? Do you admire him or her for personal traits or just for business success? Hopefully this will be an ongoing business relationship. Be sure to pick someone you’re going to feel comfortable with for awhile.

Another thing you need to know is that you don’t just need good mentors when you’re starting out with your online business. I’ve been successful in this business for more than 10 years now, and I still seek out other seasoned professionals for their advice.

Going into business for yourself isn’t a matter of building your ego. It’s not about reinventing unnecessary wheels and having to do everything yourself. With an online business as with every other kind of business, your success is going to grow from the company you keep as well as from the work you do. Choose that company wisely, and good luck.

To Your Success,

Here is a super article on how to be effective on twitter written by Jason Better. Social Media is important in your marketing strategies but your approach must be effective are it is just a waste of time. Below is what Jason has to say..

I bet you’ve seen that little green button on blog posts. Maybe, you’ve even clicked it and shared one of your favorites. Definitely appreciated.

But, most people don’t really understand the ninja nature of “retweets” and how they can quickly multiply the web traffic you’re getting every day.

So today, over a cup of ninja tea…
Here’s Three Reasons Why “Retweets” Really Matter And The Secrets Of Marketing Like A Ninja On Twitter

Ninja Secret #1 – “Retweets” Are Social Proof

When people share your posts it’s proof you’re delivering value to the world. Naturally, this attracts even more people who are slightly more inclined to share something their peers approve of.

Brain ninjas have been using this trigger for ages – It’s social proof.

Ninja Secret #2 – Give Before You Take

The ninja’s have a saying, “A gift asks for a bigger gift in return.”

When you “retweet” other people’s content you’re pushing two brain buttons: Guilt and Ego. This is why the easiest way to get people to share your content on Twitter is to share theirs.

Ninja Secret #3 – Invisible Ninja Marketing

In case you didn’t know, “retweeting” other people’s posts gets you mucho free exposure too.

People will burn you at the stake for sharing personal links on Twitter, but everybody is totally okay with you commenting on somebody else’s post and then “retweeting” it.

So you can effectively share your links all day long on the sly.
It’s almost like ninja marketing.

Don’t underestimate how much traffic you siphon off.

In fact, I invite you to “hijack” my blog traffic by leaving a friendly comment and “retweeting” this post today.

To your success,

I discovered this posting on articlebase.com. I found it to have a lot of great information. Lets assume you want to make money working from home. You want more freedom; you want success or possibly many other things. So, which is best? Is it best to go with work from home jobs or Home Based Business Opportunities? Join me as we take a look! In this article, you will discover more about work from home jobs and home based business.

There are 2 distinct reasons why you would go for a work from home job or a home based business. Your choice will predominantly be based on potential and or stability. Let us take a look.

The benefit of a work from home job is that it is a stable job. You get a work from home job, and you will be offered a wage or a salary. You can work from home, do your work and you get paid. This can be great, and offers a very stable way of earning money working from home.

Though a work from home job offers this stability, it doesn’t offer you much potential. Work hard, and you maybe able to get a pay rise. This however is not performance based. A question that should help you think about this is to ask yourself – do you like being paid a fixed wage per hour or would you like to earn is best working from home or a home based businessbased on your performance?

The next option is home based business. This has 2 options, which have many options beneath them, however, in large, you have the option of your own home based business idea or to go with a home based business opportunity.

One of the biggest reasons for getting into a home based business of your own is that you have much more potential. If you like the aspect of writing your own pay check, then this is the route to go. After all, you determine your income.

A note that is important to remember is that home based business is not always the easiest thing to do. There are times when things are tough, you may have to put in hours upon hours, and at first earn less than a day job provides. And that is irrespective of giving it an hour a day or going at 120% for 10 hours straight!

A home based business is not that gloomy however. Over time, your home based business can grow and start supporting itself. If you compare working with a work from home job compared with a home based business over a decade, you will likely find that a home based business will earn you considerably more – unless you are a brain surgeon!

The biggest reason why a home based business takes time to start producing a similar income to what you would get in a day job is that of the learning curve. Business needs a lot of learning.

For people who are new to a home business, you will likely find that a home based business opportunity gives you all the tools, material, and action steps to make a successful home based business. Research is needed; however, the learning you get is invaluable.

Here is a great article I titled, do it now. This was written by Tom Hopkins the master. He is one of the most incredible people I follow. I know you will enjoy this.

Self-Discipline really encompasses nearly everything in life. Do you remember in school when you were given 30 days to write a term paper? Did you start it that first night?
Most of us didn’t. Instead, we thought about it every night. “Got to get moving on that ratty project. But I’ve got almost a whole month left–it can wait.” As time goes by, worry about getting a failing grade looms larger in our minds. At first the pain of starting the term paper is greater than our concern about the failing grade, so after a week we still haven’t started. Two weeks go by. What are we doing every night before we go to sleep? Worrying about that F. “I better start. Tomorrow I’ll get moving on it.”

A week before the term paper is due, the F is getting larger–but it’s still not quite large enough to offset the pain of working at preventing it. All of a sudden there are only three days left before it’s due, and at last the F looms larger than the pain of working on the term paper. So we start.

As you lay it out you begin feeling some enthusiasm. “This isn’t bad. I may get an A if I do this and do that.” When you walk in with your paper you’re happy, but you wasted 27 days worrying about starting. In other words, you operated at a deficit emotionally for 27 days when you could have been in the profit column the whole time. Move into the emotional profit column right now; starting today, get your priority tasks and actions handled promptly. Plan your actions, then act on your plans. Apply this determination to every area of your life and it will make an enormous difference in your income, growth rate in business as well as your satisfaction and growth rate personally.

The portrait of a man who was being called the Whiz Kid on Wall Street appeared on the cover of a national magazine many years ago. He was one of the first to put a conglomerate together, and some of the federal laws affecting business in the early 70’s came about because of the trends that his creativity set off. At the time he was 42, he was running one of the largest industrial combines in the country, the conglomerate he had built himself. So the magazine had assigned a journalist and a team of researchers to do an in-depth report on this entrepreneur.

One of the researchers went to the small city the dynamic executive had left 15 years earlier. A few items turned up there about an alcoholic with the same name who had been sleeping on park benches at that time. The researcher passed this information along, and as the journalist was concluding his interview with the Wall Street powerhouse in his plush office, the journalist laughed and said, “Believe it or not, a man with your exact name was sleeping on park benches and getting ousted by the police when you lived in your home town. I guess the poor guy was a real wino. Isn’t that something?”

The president looked up and smiled. “That was me,” he said.

The reporter was flabbergasted. “This can’t be. You’re kidding.”

The president of the conglomerate leaned back in his leather chair and shook his head. “I’m not kidding. The wino sleeping off drinks on park benches was me.”

The journalist stared at him for a moment and realized that the man was telling the truth. He also realized that now he had a whole new story. When his apologies were waved aside, he said, “I have to ask, what made you change?”

Listen to what he said because so many people fit this mold: “When I was sleeping under newspapers in the park 15 years ago, I knew that someday I would do what I’m doing now. I was just waiting until I was ready to start.”

Do you know how many people are like that? “Well, next year’s my year. I’m going to get to work then. You just wait and see–right after the first of the year I’m gonna start shaping up.” But of course the time to get going never quite comes for most people. They have good intentions, but are lacking the two most vital components of any good deed: the motivation to begin and a strategic plan to keep them moving forward.

You see, by not beginning, you’re not risking failure, but you’re also confining yourself to the level of success you currently have. If you’re happy with that, fine. If not, make that plan and get fired up!

If your potential for greater success is nagging at you, don’t wait. Time is flying by so fast. Start today to achieve the greatness you know is within you.

I hope you enjoyed this!

To Your Success,

Here is a great post on the 7 "Musts" for Network Marketers by Jason Better. I hope you enjoy it.

I was listening to Todd Falcone’s interview over at Better Networker last night and it inspired me to write my own list of “musts” for Network Marketers. Here they are…

#1 – You MUST Focus Like A Laser Guided Missile

If you try to recruit everybody you will probably recruit nobody.

Yeppers, I know you hear this advice everywhere these days, but this is probably the single most important (and sadly overlooked) skill in business.

#2 – You MUST Know Something Almost Nobody Else Knows

If you need open heart surgery, you’re not going to get it done at the local meat market. You want somebody who actually knows what they are doing. Somebody with a steady hand, a sharp scalpel, and a brain. Network Marketing isn’t all that different.

#3 – You MUST Have A “Eureka!” Moment

In a highly competitive niche like Network Marketing the only thing that sets people apart is a “big idea”. Nobody will give you big ideas, because they aren’t for sale, but you can think up your own. And honestly, it’s the hardest work you’ll ever do – so get cracking.

#4 – You MUST Have More Personality Than A Block Of Cheese

Why do you read some e-mails but delete others? In some cases, it has nothing to do with tips, tricks, or secrets, but personality. You open the door for “Uncle Bob”. You SLAM the door on “Aunt Helga”. It’s something to think about.

#5 You MUST Learn To Solve Your Own “Freakin’” Problems

I hate to say it, but there’s no hope for some people…

- When a door is closed they refuse to turn the doorknob.
- When an elevator breaks down they refuse to take the stairs.
- When a tree falls on the sidewalk they refuse to walk around it.

Because, believe it or not, some people are stuck in 3rd grade and they’re still waiting for their teacher or mommy to solve all of their problems and make the “Boogey man” go away Unfortunately, the real world doesn’t work like that.

And last but not least…

#6 – You MUST Totally Ignore What “Joe Blow” Is Doing

The average “Joe Blow” is not making any money at all in business…

So, this is the easiest tip of them all, watch what everybody else is doing and do the complete opposite – easy beasy.

#7 – You MUST comment on this post and share it with your friends…

Kidding, but that would be totally cool of you.

Robert Secrest, robertsecrest@bresnan.net

This is great information written by Matthew Pedler that I want to share with you. How many times have you started to talk to someone about your business, only to get shot down as soon as they find out its network marketing ..Why do people run from it?

It seems to me that people are totally divided when it comes to mlm, on one hand you have people such as ourselves who know damn well that mlm isn’t a scam, it isn’t a way to get rich quick by ripping people off, and that some of the most amazing business leaders in the world have set up shop here!

And then we have, sitting on the other side of the fence, the people who when they hear the words “home based business” or “network marketing” race straight to the barn to find the burning pitchforks so they can run the heretic out of town!

But have you ever really thought about the reasons our industry has received such a bad reputation in some people’s eyes?
Clearly something must be happening to turn so many against it…
Well in my opinion the only way to begin to fix a problem is by first understanding it.

Here’s what I’m thinking…

In essence some of network marketing’s biggest positives, some of the greatest things about this industry, are also contributing to why it gets a bad image.

For one thing….Anyone can join.

It truly does not matter who you are or where you come from, you can start a business in mlm.

There really is an open door policy, in fact many reps will welcome anyone with open arms hoping they are “the one”.

So while it allows struggling, hard working, honest people a genuine opportunity at financial freedom. It also lets in lazy, selfish, dishonest scam artists, who don’t care what effect their actions have so long as they make money.

Another side effect of this is that people, who fail in life due to bad work ethic/habits/mindset, sometimes choose to try mlm as an “easy solution”. And when they fail they blame everyone and everything except the real cause which is themselves.

And as we all know bad news travels faster than good.

And then we have what I feel is the biggest issue of all…

Plain ol ignorance…

So many new reps are told to talk to family and friends, which I agree is an ok place to start.

But that’s all they get told, their uplines just keep saying the same thing…

“Family and friends…family and friends… if it’s not working just do more of it… this business is for everyone….talk to em all… ambush them on their way to get a coffee with a cheesy smile on your face” (ok I made that one up but you get the point)

And we all know how that ends, you end up with a lot of annoyed people watching a rep go nowhere…

Did someone order a bad image with a side of distrust?

Ok so what is the solution? I’m not going to say that I have all the answers, but clearly education is a big step in the right direction.

We need to keep on learning how to build this business the right way, we need to keep teaching our down lines the same.

We need to be scrupulously honest in all our actions, we need to be completely open about what it really takes to be successful in this industry.

I truly believe we can work together to bring about a better image and reputation for network marketing, you only have to look around better networker to see the amazing leaders everywhere doing just that!

Leaders who you would be proud to work with, people who are working hard to educate and inform.

It’s up to us guys, let’s change the world

One of the most important things that I have learned is only worry about the things that you control. If you are not in control there is nothing you can do about it so try not to worry but I have found you are in control of a lot more than you might think. Check out this post by Lori Deschene. It is one of the best I have seen in awhile.

“Why worry about things you can’t control when you can keep yourself busy controlling the things that depend on you?” ~Unknown

CNN reports that psychic businesses are thriving in this challenging economy—and the clientele has expanded to include more business professionals who are worried about their financial future. According to Columbia Business School’s Professor Gita Johar who studies consumer behavior, the greatest motivation for visiting a psychic is to feel a sense of control.

Sure, there are lots of things we can’t control: businesses may fold, stocks may plummet, relationships may end–the list is infinite, really. But wouldn’t we be far more effective if we focused on all things we can control instead; if we stopped worrying about the indefinite and started benefiting from the guaranteed?

Right now you can control:
1. How many times you smile today.
2. How much effort you exert at work.
3. Your level of honesty.
4. How well you prepare.
5. How you act on your feelings.
6. How often you say “thank you.”
7. When you pull out your wallet for luxuries.
8. Whether or not you give someone the benefit of the doubt.
9. How you interpret situations.
10. Whether or not you compete with people around you.
11. How often you notice and appreciate small acts of kindness—they’re everywhere!
12. Whether you listen or wait to talk.
13. When you walk away from a conversation.
14. How nice you are to yourself in your head.
15. Whether you think positive or negative thoughts.
16. Whether or not you form expectations of people.
17. The type of food you eat.
18. When you answer someone’s question—or email or call.
19. How much time you spend worrying.
20. How many new things you try.
21. How much exercise you get.
22. How many times you swear in traffic.
23. Whether or not you plan for the weather.
24. How much time you spend trying to convince people you’re right.
25. How often you think about your past.
26. How many negative articles you read.
27. The attention you give to your loved ones when you see them.
28. How much you enjoy the things you have right now.
29. Whether or not you communicate something that’s on your mind.
30. How clean or uncluttered you keep your space.
31. What books you read.
32. How well you network at social events.
33. How deeply you breathe when you experience stress.
34. How many times you admit you don’t know something—and then learn something new.
35. How often you use your influence to help people instead of focusing on building your influence.
36. When you ask for help.
37. Which commitments you keep and cancel.
38. How many risks you take.
39. How creative/innovative you are in your thinking.
40. How clear you are when you explain your thoughts.
41. Whether you formulate a new plan or act on your existing one.
42. How much information you get before you make a decision.
43. How much information you share with people.
44. Whether you smoke or drink (unless you’re an alcoholic, in which case I am not qualified to offer you advice.)
45. Whether or not you judge other people.
46. Whether you smell good or bad (unless you have some strange resistance to soap and deodorant).
47. How much of what other people say you believe.
48. How quickly you try again after you fall.
49. How many times you say “I love you.”
50. How much rest you get at night.

Odds are some of these resonate with you more than others; so what? You can’t do 50 things at once anyways. When I start fixating on something I can’t control, I pick just one of these to think about instead. Minor changes in thinking, I’ve found, lead to major changes in my reality. Do you have any to add to the list?
